A great week of Maple Leaf art inspired festivities have just been completed in Carthage with much enthusiasm!
Fresh paintings executed by participating artists Wednesday and Thursday were exhibited successfully both here at Hyde House and the Broadview Country Club Friday night to appreciative audiences.
We had over 24 new, beautiful paintings here on Thursday night, and several sold, including one purchased by me of my own house! The gallery smelled of fresh oil paint and visitors were greeted with a nice wine reception in addition to a bunch of beautiful freshly painted works. Some may still remain at Cherry’s gallery, so if you missed coming Thursday, stop by Cherry’s and ask to see the plein air pieces from the Maple Leaf Paint Out. I am beginning to plan our final show of the year, and our next invitation has gone to the printer for “Ever Evolving”, paintings by Donna Roberts of Joplin, and work by her daughter Kelly Moreland, also from Joplin. I will tell you more about these two artists in future articles, but note Nov. 9 as the opening night for this new exhibition. We have one week remaining of the plein air “Day Trippers” show here, so don’t forget to visit this weekend, Friday- Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
Artists showing include Crystal Manning of Carl Junction, Becky Golubski and Lorie Schauer of Pierce City, Debbie Reed, Margie Moss, Heather Grills, DJ Bates and Diana Bray of Joplin, Jesse McCormick of Webb City, April Davis of Neosho, and Helen Kunze, Jim Bilgere, Tom Jones, Kristin Huke, and Janice Kinman of Carthage.
I hope to see you this next weekend!
