The Carthage Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and UMB will kick off the Maple Leaf Festival on Friday with Carthage Historic Downtown Art Walk.
Nearly 20 artists are scheduled to appear including: DJ Bates, Susan Bewick, Sue Colgin, Tucker Dunaway, Kristin Girard, Martha Goldman, Justin Hale, Kristin Hawkins, Janice Kinnman, Koral Martin, Aimee Mitchell, Sherry Pettey, Robin Putnam, Gary Royse, Helen Ryan, Andy Thomas, Joanna Turnbull, Rachel Wilson and featured artist Jerry Ellis.
The event kicks off with on Friday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. with live music and art in a relaxing atmosphere. UMB Bank on the square will feature the work of Jerry Ellis and live music from Don Campbell.
“We have an excellent event scheduled with a Friday night date night for adults in traditional Maple Leaf Festival style, the Rotary Club will offer Brats on the Square and Kip Smith Realty and Koka Art Gallery are also offering live music. We are thrilled to share these events with the community and tourists,” said Wendi Douglas, Carthage CVB.
Saturday will be family day with vendors, the Shriner’s Train will offer rides and children’s art activities are scheduled on the south side of the square! Families can enjoy a relaxing and fun filled day with the festival atmosphere from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. The Carthage Square is a prime backdrop for the event. Several established galleries are located around the square along with dining options and entertainment.
