  • Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre will hold their 28th Annual “Sally” Awards on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Theatre on Old Route 66 Boulevard west of Carthage.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and the awards will be given out starting at 7 p.m.
This event honors those actors, crew and volunteers who have given outstanding service to the theatre during the 2011-2012 season.
The “Sally” Awards are named after longtime Carthage resident, educator and drama enthusiast Sally Anne Crawford, who died on Oct. 30, 2008, at the age of 91.
She spent most of her career at the Carthage High School, teaching English, speech, debate and drama classes between 1952 and 1979. During 36 years as a teacher, she donated thousands of hours outside the normal school day in fine-tuning the dramatic and public speaking skills of hundreds of students.
