  • A Carthage liquor store was robbed by a man who walked into the store and demanded money late Wednesday night, according to the Carthage Police Department.
TC's Liquor Locker and Smoke Shop, 321 E. Airport Dr., was robbed at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday and an undetermined amount of money was taken.
Police said the man demanded money and left on foot and Carthage police and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol searched the area for several hours in an attempt to find the suspect.
Police said officers pursued several leads overnight, but the suspect is still on the loose.
Carthage Police Chief Greg Dagnan said the robber might have had a weapon in his pocket.
Dagnan described the robber as a black male about 5 feet 8 inches tall wearing a black “hoodie” sweat shirt and black and white bandana over his face.
He wore black pants and white shoes. The clerk was not injured in the incident.
