  • The annual Chief Sarcoxie Days are set for Sept. 6, 6–9 p.m., all day Sept. 7 and 8; town square, Sarcoxie.
The community is invited to this free three-day celebration that will include a carnival, a parade (on Saturday, Sept. 8), a dominos contest,  a baby contest that usually has around 60 participants. Two townspeople are named the Sarcoxie Days’ Chief and Squaw at the event, and they reign over the festival for the weekend.
Visitors of Sarcoxie Days enjoy munching on funnel cakes, potato curls, onion rings and other fair foods, and they can enjoy the craft booths to shop for jewelry, purses and more. The community is invited to join the fun.
