  • Donovan Bryant Stahl, 36, Carthage, went to the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 due to injuries he sustained in an accident.
    Donovan was born July 13, 1976 in Carthage, the son of Frank Stahl and Joy Rogers Stahl. He lived in the Carthage area most of his life, attending school in Carthage where he made many friendships through the years. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Jillian, for 12 years. They were married May 27, 2000 at the Phelps House in Carthage. He was a loving father to his three sons, Ian Bryant, Trevor Walker and Nicholas Donovan. Donovan was a life-long student of the martial arts and a fourth degree black belt in Ikaika Jiu-Jitsu. He was a teacher, the Kahuna, of Ikaika where he took pride in passing on his knowledge and wisdom to his students.
    He had a love of fishing, hunting and other outdoor sports. He was an artist and musician and always lived life to the fullest. He will be remembered as a strong, loyal, loving man that touched the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Jillian and three sons, Ian, Trevor and Nicholas, Carthage; his parents, Frank and Joy Stahl, Carthage; one sister, Alice Chorum and husband, Brian, Carthage; a niece, Bailey Chorum, Miller, Mo.; one nephew, Levi Chorum and great nephew, Isaac Chorum, Stotts City, Mo.; and a large extended family and many, many friends. He will be missed by many, but never forgotten. Donovan was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Helen and Richard Rogers; paternal grandparents, Myrtle and Arnold Stahl and several close family members and friends.
    Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29, in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Minister Brandon Lewis will officiate. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Donovan Stahl Children in care of Southwest Missouri Bank, Carthage.
