  • Lucy Ellawee Scheerer, 97, Columbia, Mo., formerly of Carthage, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at The Bluffs Residential Care Facility, Columbia.  
    Lucy Ellawee Harrison was born Nov. 21, 1914 in Centralia, Okla., the daughter of the late John Bailey Harrison and Viola Wiggins Harrison. She attended Carthage Public Schools and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Carthage.   
    She married Cecil Carl Hall in December of 1933; he preceded her in death on April 9, 1947.  She married Joseph Douglas Scheerer in November of 1952; he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1978.
    She retired from the Big Smith Company of Carthage where she was an embroidery specialist.
    Ellawee is survived by two sons; John (Noel) Hall, Columbia, Mo., and William (Barbara) Scheerer, Carthage; four daughters, Janice Pinter and Delores Kennell, Carthage, Ola Marie (David) Thomas, Springfield, Mo., and Carla Jo Saxon (Mario Rodriguez), San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren, Tia (Tom) Strait, Thomas Blankenship, Tonya Dedrich, Trudy Gardner, Cyndi (James) Pescagalia, John Gregory Hall and two step grandchildren, Steven Scheerer and Vicki (Dennis) Scheerer; 15 great grandchildren, Tara (Peter) Cross, Tristin (Melissa) Strait, Gabrielle Blankenship, Patrick Blankenship, Toby (Amy) Buckner, Zachary Waggoner, Victoria Palmer, Jessica Renee Gaston, Chelsea Blankenship, Tony (Brittany) Pescaglia, Kyle Christopher Pescaglia, Vince Pescaglia, Travis Scheerer, Amanda Scheerer and Nikole Bailey; five great great grandchildren, Tracin Scheerer, Layne Scheerer, Hannah Bailey, Rylee Rossen and Madison Buckner; one step great grandchild, Tyler Fitzgerlad.  Ellawee was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a daughter, Jacqueline Lynn Fulton, four sisters, Marie Wigginton, Virgie Bryant, Bertha Thompson and Oneta Gray; four brothers, Buster, Wallace Willard and Raymond Harrison; two step sons, Billy and Jack Scheerer, a step daughter-in-law, Charlene Scheerer and two sons-in-law, David Kennell and John Pinter.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Knell Mortuary Chapel.  Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the Carthage R-9 Foundation in care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.  Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
