Charles R. Osborne, 79, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital Carthage, Mo.
Charles was born March 29, 1933 in Springfield, Tenn., to Carl and Ruthie Osborne. Charles was a resident of Carthage since 1961. He worked for the City of Carthage Street Department and was a Jasper County Deputy Sheriff, he also worked for the Carthage Police Department. After retiring, he started the JCB&K lawn service. Charles served in the Air Force and was a member of the American Legions. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Carthage.
Charles was united in marriage to Judy Emery on July 7, 1960 in Miami, Okla., she survives.
Charles is survived by one sister Cheryl and husband Ricky Dean of Springfield, Tenn., two children Benjie Osborne and Kathy and husband Robert Anderson both of Carthage. Four grandchildren Tina Osborne, Tim Osborne, Mike Anderson and Trisha Anderson. Four great grandchildren Mike Anderson Jr., Mattie Anderson, Clayton Anderson and Zander Anderson all of Carthage.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruthie Osborne a step-mother Thelma Osborne. Two brothers Carl Osborne Jr. and Jesse Osborne. One daughter Radena Goff all of Springfield, Tenn.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at the Ulmer Funeral Home.
