Eva Louise Seitz, age 90, of Carthage, Mo. formerly of Brookfield, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage.
Eva Louise Seitz, age 90, of Carthage, Mo. formerly of Brookfield, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield. Memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church of Brookfield or First United Methodist Church of Carthage may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, PO Box 496, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. Eva Louise, daughter of Clifford and Anna (Staples) Mendenhall, was born May 19, 1922 in Brookfield. On April 5, 1941, she married Carl E. Seitz who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1995. Mrs. Seitz was a homemaker and active in Mother’s Club, Bridge Club, and various church activities while in Brookfield. After retirement she and Carl enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel and later lived at Lake of the Ozarks in Sunrise Beach, Missouri during the summer and spent their winters in South Texas. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield and had been involved in many church activities at Sunrise Beach, Springfield, Mo., and South Texas. Survivors include three children, Stephen Seitz and wife, Mary, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Jim Seitz and wife, Janet, of Carthage, Mo., and Carla Hogan and husband, Rod, of Topeka, Kan.; five grandchildren, Lisa Lawrence and husband, Kevin, of Jonesboro, Ark., Debi Piercy and husband, Michael, of Little Rock, Ark., Shannon Seitz and husband, Ethan Honnell, of Hermann, Mo., Jared Seitz and wife, Allison, of Ballwin, Mo., Kristen Howie and husband, Matt, of Port Huron, Mich., and two step grandsons, Christopher and Weston Hogan; seven great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley (Crist) Chrisman and Edith Mae Heckman and one brother, Roger Mendenhall.
