Winston M. Carter of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Highland Health and Rehab in Bella Vista. He was born in Jasper, Mo., to John M. Carter and Myrtie (Mackey) Carter. He was a Ford/Mercury Dealer in Carthage, Mo., for 25 years. He was a charter member of the Bella Vista Christian Church, having served as Elder, Deacon, Chairman of the Church Board and Treasurer. He was also an active member of Gideon’s, Lions Club, Bella Vista Street Committee, Village Pride Committee, Director and Charter member of Bella Vista Meals on Wheels, Past Director of Helping Hands, Past Director – President of the Townhouse Association and Crime Watch in Northeast Area. In 1999, he was awarded the Village Pride Award. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Carter, Wife of 52 years, who died in October 1992. He is survived by his wife Jackie Hubbell Carter of Bella Vista, Ark.; one son, Pastor Ron Carter of Bella Vista Christian Church and daughter-in-law Pam Carter; step-daughter, Nancy Dallison and step-son-in-law, Dr. Noble Dallsion; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Winston’s life will be held at the Bella Vista Christian Church later in August. A private family graveside service will be at the Park Cemetery in Carthage, Mo., on Friday.
