  • Wilda D. Bond, 79, of Carthage passed away at 2:04 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.  
    Wilda was born Oct. 1, 1932 in Quapaw, Okla., the daughter of Willis Yost and Fern “Seymour” Yost. Wilda had lived in Carthage for the past eight years moving from Norwalk, Calif.  She worked at the Marriott in California for more than 20 years.
    Wilda was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Bond on May 7, 1952 in Cardin, Okla.  He preceded her in death on July 1, 2004.
    Wilda is survived by one son, Alan Bond of Rogers, Ark., four daughters, Vickie Frishman of Carthage, Diana McDowell of Saginaw, Texas, Cheryl Bond of Paulden, Ariz., and Debbie Bond of Saginaw, Texas, three brothers, Marvin Yost of Carthage, Ken Yost of Oklahoma City, Okla., and J.W. Yost of Carthage and one sister, Erma Olivetti of Carthage, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great grandson, Nick Bell.
    Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. prior to services.  Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.  Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com  Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
