Lindle Dean Olinger, 67, Carthage, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home with his family at his bedside. Lindle D. Olinger was born February 19, 1945 in Mountain Grove, Mo.; the son of the late Clenis Olinger and Dorothy Starbuck Olinger. He moved with his family to Carthage from Mount Vernon, Mo. and attended Carthage Public Schools, graduating Carthage Senior High School in 1963. He worked for several service stations in Carthage, Carthage Marble Corporation, Flex-o-laters, Inc. and was a bodyman for Grundy’s Body Shop for over 10 years. He married Sharon Kay Garner on May 29, 1964; she survives.
Additional survivors include four daughters; Sheila (Tim) Denefrio, Carthage, Charlotte (Randy) Hopper, Carthage, Cheryl (Edward) Vasquez, Joplin, Melanie (Brian) Madsen, Carthage; one son, Nathan (Amy) Olinger, Jasper; four sisters, Beverly Whorton, Brenda Youngblood, Karen Fair and Regina (Keith) Baker, all of Carthage; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Roy Garner and two sisters, Bonita Pogue and Rhonda Garner.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 3 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 4 in Summit Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Mo.
