Misty R. Graff, age 39, of rural Sarcoxie, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her home following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Misty was born on Oct. 19, 1972 in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Ron and Shirley (Harper) Sturgeon. She was a 1991 graduate of Carthage High School and furthered her education at Crowder College in Neosho where she received her degree in environmental safety. She had worked for H.E. Williams and Grace Energy before her career with Beimdiek Insurance as a Safety Consultant.
Misty enjoyed cooking, scrapbooking and most of all, being with her family. On May 3, 1997 in LaRussell, Mo., Misty Sturgeon and Jason Graff were united in marriage. They were blessed with one son.
Survivors include her husband, Jason; her son, Wyatt, of the home; her parents, Ron and Shirley Sturgeon, of Carthage; one brother, Chad Sturgeon, of Carthage; two nieces, Hannah Graff, of Springfield, Mo. and Shyann Sturgeon, of Carthage; two nephews, Dakota Graff, of Joplin and Kyson Sturgeon, of Carthage; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie with Billy Graff and Pastor David Powell officiating. Interment will be in Harvey Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, Mo..
