Joyful sounds will emanating from the First Baptist Church on July 1.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., for a Freedom Rally – an entertaining evening for the community to enjoy America and all of her freedoms. A most-suiting theme, “I Love This Land,” will set the atmosphere for a time of fellowship.
“It's going to be amazing,” said Rachel Deyo, an active member of the church. “Along with pride in our country, it's for showing extreme appreciation of the freedoms and the things we take for granted. The staff and the congregation are all about patriotism and we'd like to see this turn into an annual thing.”
With the entrance and gymnasium lined with flags, those attending the event will enjoy the local talents of the music department of the church. The Freedom Choir, Children’s Choir, Handbell Choir, Senior Adult Choir, with members of the Youth Band representing our nation's service men and women, will be performing. There will also be special appearances from Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Harriet Beecher Stowe.
“It's neat to be a part of a church that does so much for our community,” Deyo said. “It's really going to be a fun thing, and I hope everyone comes out to listen to our non-stop entertainment.”
