James A. Sidney, age 57, of Carthage, Mo., a longtime Webb City resident passed away at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home following several years of ill health.
Jim was born Dec. 12, 1954 in Joplin, Mo., and had lived in Webb City most of his life. He was an Owner Operator Truck Driver with much of his career with Burlington Motor Carriers, and Longhorn Produce Co.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Jim married Diana Kerns Aug. 16, 1987 in Joplin, Mo. and she survives. Additional survivors include three daughters, Reagan Stringer and husband Todd, Cassville, Mo., Teresa Wooden, Webb City, Mo., and Jamie Sidney, Cassville, Mo., one brother, Michael Sidney, Springdale, Ark., and nine grandchildren; Bayle “Punky” Sidney, Hunter Stringer, Breklyn Sidney, Peyton Stringer, David Wooden, Brylee Bohannan, Trenton Wooden, Dylan Bohannan, and Ashlyn Stringer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel with Larry Hall, Minister, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Ft. Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
