  • Former Carthage coach Scott Hettinger's book, titled “5-22 Tragedy and Triumph,” is complete. Proceeds from the book go to Joplin recovery.
    The book is compiled of personal experiences survivors have shared about the May 22, 2011 Joplin tornado.
    Books are $27 directly through Hettinger. 1. Mail money order or cashiers check to 5/22 Tornado Book.(These clear immediately.) 2. Mail a personal check to 5/22 Tornado Book. (This will take a few days to clear at the bank.) 3. See Hettinger and give cash. Any of these ways, those interested will be emailed a sales receipt and then notified when books are in hand.

    The book will soon be available at Amazon.com in both paper and e-book format.
    If all goes as planned, Walgreens will be selling it as well. Hettinger plans on having book-signings in the near future.
