Three opportunities to see a life-changing presentation will take place in Carthage over the April 28-29 weekend.
Bill Wiese, a renowned best-selling author, will take the spotlight in Carthage with a graphic and strong presentation on his encounter that inspired the book, “23 Minutes in Hell.” Wiese's presentations will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the Family Life Center in Grace Pointe Assembly of God, 1605 S. Baker Blvd.; and at 10:30 a.m., at the church. He will speak again at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at the Carthage High School Auditorium, 2600 S. River.
“This is going to be a very powerful presentation,” said Pastor Larry Grahm, who is representing one of several local churches with the Ministerial Alliance making Wiese's visit a reality. “We want to be an area of an awakening. We're not just fire and brimstone preachers, it's part of the gospel. Jesus taught more about Hell than anyone else, and the gospel is the good news. The good news is that you don't have to go through that. It's as if you've come to a detour sign in the road – it means you have to change your path but you're staying away from danger. You don't have to go through that torment and anguish because Jesus did that for you. He's alive and gives us our freedom and hope. This presentation will help people recognize what doesn't have to happen.”
In preparation for an overwhelmed spiritual community, the Ministerial Alliance will host a gathering, with a light dinner, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 30 in the Carthage Water & Electric Plant's community room. The community room is located in the former McCune-Brooks Hospital, at the corner of Centennial and Hazel streets.
“We're expecting hundreds,” Grahm said. “We're praying for a beautiful event, involving all denominations from across the board – and Carthage can be that center point of the ripple affect in our region. It's not only for the lost, but also for Christians to re-dedicate their lives.”
Wiese's presentations are sponsored by KNEO radio station, the Carthage Ministerial Alliance and Grace Pointe Assembly of God. Admission is free and all are welcome.
