A significant donation has helped the Jasper County Youth Fair.
The Jasper County Youth Fair has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the MFA Oil Foundation to go toward an industrial fan project. The Jasper County Fair Board is currently working on funding two 18-inch industrial ceiling fans, similar to those in the show arena at OEF. One will be hung over the show arena and the other over the beef stalling area.
“We are very appreciative of the MFA, proud of the kids, parents and the extension,” said JCYF leader Roxanne Willard, “we wouldn't know what to do without them.”
The MFA Oil Foundation, established 1998, provides support to non-profit organizations that are working on improving communities where MFA Oil has a significant concentration of members and employees. The foundation chose the local fair project on the basis of principles of: building knowledge and leadership skills of rural youth, agricultural and cooperative education programs, and organizations active in addressing and solving community problems and improving the quality of life.
“The MFA Foundation is a program that allows our company to give support back to the small towns and rural communities that are the foundation of our business,” said MFA Oil president Jerry Taylor.
