Webb City’s Katie Box is heading to the finals of the 2010 MSHSAA Track and Field Championships after finishing sixth Friday in the 100 hurdles with a preliminary time of 15.77 seconds.

Box, the individual sectional champion last Saturday in the 100-meter hurdles at Marshfield High School, is scheduled to run in the finals at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

Webb City’s Jarvis Jones, the individual sectional champion in the 100-meter dash, and Andrew Pisechko each qualified individually in two events for this weekend’s state meet at Dwight T. Reed Stadium on the campus of Lincoln University.

Jones narrowly qualified for Saturday’s finals in the 100 after finishing eighth with a preliminary time of 11.25 seconds Friday. Unfortunately, Webb City’s 4x200 relay team, comprised of Boo Rodgers, Slade Byford, Alex Christian and Jones, failed to advance past preliminaries after being disqualified when two runners were out of zone.

Pisechko, along with Webb City’s other qualifiers, are scheduled to compete later this afternoon.
