I just had to tell you that we were neighbors to the Graces for 15 years, and they both were the greatest neighbors anyone could have. We had good neighbors on 13th Street. The Brinkmans (Fred and Martha Nell) would always bring us a flower each and every holiday. Also Margaret and Gus Couts and Leota and Delbert Phipps were good. But Myrl and Ray Grace would bring us homemade breads, applesauce and cake Myrl made that would melt in your mouth. Ray would go to Golden City and bring us every kind of pie the café had every week.
And he was always going quail hunting and bringing us quail. They were just so nice to us and never would accept anything in return. They were a very unique couple and loved each other dearly.
You just do not have neighbors like they were. We felt very privileged to have them next door on Euclid. They were like family to us. Ray brought us a 58th anniversary gift. God bless them both and now they are with their dear daughter Billie Ray. Ray said he had not had a good meal since we moved. Bless his dear heart.
