Nick Tepesch went the distance on the mound and Aaron Senne hit a key two-run double, lifting Missouri past Texas 7-3 on Wednesday in the Big 12 Conference tournament pool-play opener for both teams.

Texas (46-9) swept Missouri (28-25) in a three-game series last weekend and went 24-3 during conference play, but Tepesch (6-6) scattered 10 hits and struck out five batters while throwing 134 pitches.

Kevin Lusson's solo home run in the second inning gave Texas a 1-0 lead, but Senne's double off Texas starter Hoby Milner (3-1) highlighted a three-run third inning for the Tigers, who led the rest of the way. Milner gave up six hits and four runs in four innings for the Longhorns.

Missouri extended its advantage to 7-2 with a two-run eighth, keyed by an error by Texas reliever Andrew McKirahan and an RBI double by Conner Mach.
