Janice K. Myers, 65, a lifetime Carthage resident, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.


Janice K. Myers, 65, a lifetime Carthage resident, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

She was born March 20, 1945, to Charles and Edith “LeMasters” Tryon in Carthage, Mo. Janice loved to read and crochet. She worked for 14 years at the Juvenile Shoe Company and was the head cook for two years at Mark Twain Elementary, Carthage. She was a member of the Oak Street Assembly of God Church, Carthage for 40 years.

Janice married Ralph Myers on May 23, 1967, in Miami, Okla. He survives.

Additional survivors include one brother, Grant Tryon and one sister, Ann Turner, both of Carthage, and her dear friends, the Patrick family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jack LeMasters and Charles Tryon, and one sister, Mary Cordera.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
