I am most pleased to present the first “all sculpture” exhibition since my taking the directorship of artCentral.

The three artists featured in this new show entitled, “THREE DIMENSIONAL ELEMENTS” are all veteran sculptors and long time members of artCental.

M. Justin Hale, who resides in Joplin, sculpts in wood. Robin Putnam and Bill Snow are both from Carthage, and work in stone. Bill works in bronze as well. There will be at least ten pieces from each artist, and some are very small for those who are interested in portability! But as you may suspect, some of the pieces will be larger and heavier, but still affordable.

Additionally, Robin is a former volunteer-director of artCentral, the first of the artist-directors that will show this year. She began as an artist in other media, but moved to stone sculpting under the direction and teaching of Bill Snow, and she has produced some beautiful pieces over the years that she has maintained her own studio.

Bill needs no introduction to Carthage if you have seen and appreciated his bronze sculpture of Marlin Perkins in Central Park or the “Alice in Wonderland” bronze at the library.

We are pleased to welcome a new underwriter, that being Locarni Marble, and how appropriate!  Along as well are Pat & Judy Goff as underwriters, and as Judy will be cooking the food for the reception, a real treat is in store as she is a marvelous cook. She is even bringing along some of her family members to assist and serve, and we welcome them as well.

I look forward to a large crowd, but hope you know you too are invited to attend the opening reception that begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 26, and will remain in the gallery through April 11.
Come out and see what I know will be a memorable display by three seasoned veterans in their media of choice.
