Join the staff of The Carthage Press as we celebrate 125 years of news and features and views about Carthage.

The Press enters its next 125 years of covering Carthage on Wednesday, and the people that bring you your community newspaper invite you to an open house at The Press office, 800 W. Central Ave.

Refreshments will be provided and people can come to meet the staff and columnists that bring you the news of Carthage.

The Carthage Press started as a daily newspaper approximately 125 years ago when the city was a bustling mining community and veterans of the Civil War still led the community.

Thousands of issues later, The Press continues to cover the people and institutions that make Carthage a great place to live.

From local politics to schools, civic organizations to sports, The Carthage Press covers it all and lets you know what’s happening in this historic hub of commerce and government.

Come pick up a free 125th special edition paper and let us know what we can do to cover your community better.
